Region III Developmental Services

provides early intervention and special education services for birth to school age children who have developmental disabilities and delays. Region III's service areas include Crook and Weston Counties of North Eastern Wyoming.

Region III offers developmental screenings through the "1 before 2" Child Find Campaign to locate, identify, and serve eligible children.  If a formal evaluation warrants intervention, staff and parents meet to develop a plan to provide services that will help the child reach his/her potential.

Region III provides the following services free for children who qualify:
  • Child and Family Service Coordination
  • Special Education
  • Related Services
    • Mental Health Services
    • Speech/Language Pathology
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Physical Therapy
  • Inclusive Preschool

Our early interventionists, special education instructors, and therapists are licensed and/or certified in the state of Wyoming.

We have preschools in Newcastle, Upton, Moorcroft, and Hulett.  With collaborative partnerships with local school districts, our focus is kindergarten readiness and school success.  The Weston County Children's Center provides preschool for children ages three through five.  Full day/full year, state licensed child care is offered for infants and children through age twelve in Newcastle.  We are a TANF preschool and through our partnership with Wyoming Child and Family Development we provide Head Start Preschool.

Each of our preschool teachers are degreed and experienced in early childhood education.
